I must say that this is some interesting news, that's for sure. More than a few people with Google and their 15-minutes-refund policy window on the Android market are apparently (contain, US) upset. According to the Taipei times, Taipei City Government recently learned Google's Android market withdrawal conditions - policies that violate Taiwanese consumer protection laws that require each product bought on the Internet at least have a 7-day "trial period." That this is a law in quite Taiwan it causing a few problems for mobile markets, such as the Android market and the Apple app store.
I know, not many of us here in the States this concern, but it is certainly interesting to see, how things play out, and I'm very interested in seeing the final verdict. According to the Taiwanese Government Google has to revise the policy of the window of 15-minutes refund a 15-day period and replace it with the 7 day "trial period", and apparently Google decided to not comply and did not change its policy. Is clearly all facing a $1 million dollar fine by the Taiwanese Government, which decided that Google remove, apps from the Android market in Taiwan in the meantime, a decision which many not too happy about and I don't blame them.
We while we discuss this issue with the Taipei City Government further paid apps in Taiwan be stop, Google Taiwan said in a statement yesterday. From what I read Apple got the same carton pack of the Taiwanese Government but they chose the 7-day trial period to comply with law. This makes us questions what Google is planning on this whole situation. Google is most likely argue that the 15-minute window allows a user to download an app and try it within a few minutes and decide whether they want to keep it or opt for a refund. According to the Taipei Times has been updated recently stores Taiwan's consumer protection act but things like app, because they are not a new trend in Taiwan at the moment. In any case, this is a very unique situation, and I think that this is many Las an interesting find.
For now paid apps will remain unavailable until a type of decision, or agreement can be made. Hesitate no longer on this story at the source, check below.
